Life Storage, Self Storage Company Holding Charity Clothing and Toy Drive

Matteson, IL (PRWEB) October 26, 2011

LifeStorage, Chicago self storage provider for home and business, records management and office solutions, is holding a charity drive for new clothes and new toys for children 10 years and younger at its Matteson location. The drive started at the beginning of October and runs through December 15th. All donations benefit The Pantry of Rich Township, an are that spans nine municipalities of the Chicago south suburbs.

The Pantry is a non-for-profit, Salvation Army Unit extension, providing qualifying families non-perishable food items, personal care products, disposable diapers, and baby formula. It also offers limited utilities assistance. Once every year, families that receive shut-off notices from the electric or water companies can receive $ 50 towards outstanding bills. LifeStorage Matteson has dedicated its time and efforts for the entire year towards raising food and money for The Pantry. The clothing and toy drive is just one of series of events that LifeStorage Matteson Store Managers Allison Thompson and Michael Gray have created.

LifeStorage Matteson is currently continuing with its food drive, participated in a hunger walk, held a charity car wash, and recently hosted a yard sale. Thompson and Gray have their eyes on their next charity undertaking, a Pictures With Santa event, but are focusing predominantly on the clothing and toy drive in hopes that local families will have a better winter and holiday season with the donations and The Pantry's help.

For Thompson and LifeStorage Matteson, this is simply another aspect of not just running a business, but being a part of a community. They currently work with the Matteson Business Association and advertise the fundraising events on Matteson area cable channel 4, which has proved to be an excellent way to spread the fundraising information among community members. It's a symbiotic relationship that's proven fruitful for everyone involved.

?We here at LifeStorage are a family of people that are willing to help where necessary. We have clients that come in to rent that are in need of help not only from us, but from other sources in the community. As far as our services, we offer excellent specials for our clients and will work with them as much as possible to meet their needs. Michael and I, and everyone at LifeStorage, realize the importance of the communities we work in, and do our best to reflect that in our stores and actions,? Thompson said.

For those interested donating, please call the LifeStorage Matteson facility at 708-279-4138.
