Rocky Mountain Laser Aesthetics Named 2010 Best Tattoo Removal on Denver's 7 A-List

Denver, CO (PRWEB) October 2, 2010

Rocky Mountain Laser Aesthetics, 250 Steele St. in Denver, Colo., in Cherry Creek North was named BEST TATTOO REMOVAL 2010 Denver?s 7-A-List. Channel 7 TV sponsors the A-List annually and this is the second year in a row that Rocky Mountain Laser Aesthetic has been named to the list.

The Denver's 7 A-List features more than 4,400 of the Denver area's top local businesses. Winners are nominated by popular vote.

?We are thrilled to be named the #1 Best Tattoo Removal in the Denver area,? said Jeffrey Raval, MD, FACS, Medical Director and owner of Rocky Mountain Laser Aesthetics. ?Thanks to all who voted for us!?

Rocky Mountain Laser Aesthetics specializes in laser tattoo and hair removal, plus laser treatments to erase wrinkles and veins, microdermabrasion, lunchtime peels, Botox injections, Dysport and facial fillers like Restylane, Juvederm, Radiesse and Perlane.

Until now, tattoo removal left an unsightly scar. But using the MedLite? laser, a Q-Switched laser Nd: YAG laser, the laser of choice in this class of laser, any tattoo can be significantly lightened and reduced, even across a wide variety of tattoo inks. The MedLite laser uses rapid absorption of light energy that causes the tattoo ink to break into tiny particles that can be flushed from the body?s system naturally. And the best part is that the MedLite laser leaves the surrounding tissue, the area that is not tattooed, unharmed.

The tattoo laser procedure may take anywhere between 10 minutes to one hour depending on the tattoo. Up to 10 visits can be required. Continuous high-powered laser pulses lasting for less than one millionth of a second are aimed at the tattoo. Due to the fact that not all tattoo colors respond the same to lasers, multiple lasers may be needed. In order to allow time for your skin to heal and your body to absorb and dissolve the ink, this procedure will most likely need to be completed in multiple sessions over several months.

Visit http://www.RockyMountainLaser.com for more details on tattoo removal and laser hair removal. Or call the Rocky Mountain Laser clinic at 303-985-8520.

Meladerm is the Award Winner of 2010 by User Ratings at SkinWhitening.org as the Best Skin Lightener

Culver City, CA (PRWEB) October 21, 2010

Meladerm has recently won an award of 2010 as the best skin lightener by user ratings at SkinWhitening.org. Developed by Civanta Skin Care, the Meladerm cream is a skin whitening product that was developed over a 4 year period, with intensive research going into creating the perfect blend to safely and effectively remove unsightly blemishes caused by hyperpigmentation. The product is useful for treating age spots, acne scars, sun spots, freckles, birthmarks and even old scars.

The Meladerm producers have gone to great lengths to ensure that the most pure and high quality ingredients have been utilised to create the skin cream. When applied topically, this cream can deliver more effective outcomes as a result of the care taken during production.

Unlike Triluma, one of the attractive things with this product is the fact that it incorporates a number of natural ingredients such a mulberry and liquorice into the skin whitening formula.

In order for the product to work, Meladerm should be applied topically to areas where there is hyperpigmentation (excessive pigmentation). Melanin in the skin is generally the underlying cause of skin discolorations, such as freckles and sunspots. The most effective way to correct this problem is to reduce melanin production. This can be a relatively slow process, so using a skin whitening cream is hence a long term process.

The greatest effects will be achieved if the user continues to use the Meladerm over a period of 2 to 3 months. The skin whitening cream needs to be applied twice a day to clean skin. This is most usually done once in the morning and once in the evening. This treatment can be used on any area where there is discoloration, however it is important to note that it is a topical cream, which cannot be used in the mouth and should be used with care around the eyes.

A representative of Civant Skin Care explains that the product helps customers to achieve "even, glowing, beautiful skin". Making Meladerm skin whitening cream a part of the daily beauty routine can play a part in achieving that through eliminating unwanted skin discoloration. There are many different reasons why the individual can experience skin discoloration. Meladerm is so effective because it addresses the common underlying cause and delivers smoother, less blemished skin.

San Diego Cosmetic Dentists Discuss Recent AACD Statistics and How to Look One?s Best During the Holidays

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) December 29, 2011

The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) reports in a recent survey that 50% of Americans are unhappy with their smile and that 99.7% believe a smile to be an important social asset. While such a high percentage of the population recognizes the social pressure placed on dental aesthetics, Drs. James Salazar and Bradley Ross of Mission Trails Dentistry, a center for cosmetic dentistry in San Diego, say cosmetic awareness also increases during the holiday season as people prepare for social gatherings and holiday festivities. However, Dr. Salazar says there has also been a rise in popularity of smile makeovers in the past month, with more and more patients at his practice undergoing comprehensive procedures to improve their smile and boost self-esteem.

Often combining procedures such as dental implants or porcelain veneers, Dr. Salazar says a smile makeover offers patients the opportunity to customize their treatment to meet each of their individual needs. Through personalized attention and a custom plan for improving one?s dental aesthetics, Dr. Salazar says patients can revitalize their appearance and feel confident going into the holidays and the upcoming new year. Patients can also include several other procedure options during a smile makeover such as gum recontouring or Invisalign?. ?The best results for veneers is with teeth whitening also. A bright white smile enhances the appearance of good health.?

Dr. Ross adds that patients looking to enhance their smile for the holidays can also choose more subtle options for feeling rejuvenated and confident, such as teeth whitening or routine cleanings. Regardless of whether patients are seeking a comprehensive, custom smile design or a single procedure, Dr. Ross says choosing an experienced and qualified dentist is essential for achieving the highest quality results. He adds that through the skilled and dedicated work of a passionate practice, patients can revitalize their mouth and feel healthy and confident in time for the holidays. ?During the holidays, people always feel that they want to look their best around friends and family. A nice smile radiates health and confidence.?

Announcing The Best Lasers and Other Approaches for Treating Large Facial Pores

Roslyn, NY (PRWEB) October 06, 2011

Large pores on the face are the bane of many a woman?s beauty routine. They?re tough to cover with makeup, look unsightly, and can attract debris that turns into blackheads or pimples. To the rescue: Lasers and other treatments now offered by dermatologists specializing in laser. According to Dr. Joshua Fox, founder and director of New York-based Advanced Dermatology and the Center for Laser & Cosmetic Surgery, lasers are the only way to actually change pore size on your face. Traditional cleansers and creams do little in this regard.

You also can?t ?open? your pores like a window, despite products that claim to do so. ?Pores are the openings to oil glands, called the sebaceous glands, so they can?t be opened and closed. But they can get clogged with oil and bacteria, enhancing their size and making them more noticeable,? he explains. The oilier your skin, the more oil these glands produce, and the bigger pores appear. Large pores are most commonly seen on the T-zone?the nose, forehead and chin?where the face has the greatest concentration of oil glands.

Large pores can also be the result of aging, Dr. Fox notes. ?Collagen, a protein that is the main component of connective tissue, supports the oil glands and pores of the face. As you age, your collagen production naturally breaks down, and there?s less collagen to support pores and glands and the pores slump and enlarge.? Age-related pore enlargement can occur in both the T-zone and on the cheeks, he adds.

Excessive sun also causes collagen breakdown leading to enlarged pores. Strong rubbing is also thought to contribute to oversized pores through collagen defination.

Lasers?

While it?s true that lasers are mostly thought of as wrinkle-reducers, two lasers do an excellent job of reducing pore size and promoting collagen production:

Pixel Laser. Pixel laser produces a beam of concentrated light that is absorbed by water molecules in the superficial layers of the skin forcing them to gently peel off giving way to silky smooth skin. The heat produced by the laser light tightens the skin by removing wrinkles, smoothing out scars and reducing the size of large pores. Pixel laser resurfacing also stimulates skin?s natural collagen remodeling resulting in skin textural improvement during the months following the treatment.

Fraxel Laser. This procedure is usually with no down time. Your skin might be red or puffy for a day or two afterwards, however. This laser can be painful because it penetrates into the skin, prompting the formation of fresh, healthy skin cells. The Fraxel laser causes tiny injuries deep in the skin, treating a small area at a time, which is referred to as the microthermal treatment zone (MTZ). This is as opposed to traditional Erbium lasers, which injure larger areas and require several days of healing, during which time you can?t cover the damage and need to stay at home. Only about 20% of the skin is targeted at each visit with the Fraxel laser, and we recommend three to five treatments spaced a month apart, and then occasional maintance treatments if needed.

The Fraxel laser does a great job of shrinking pore size, as well as smoothing out wrinkles and crow?s feet around the eyes, rehabilitating sun-damaged skin, lightening up and removing age spots and sun sports melasma, and reducing the appearance of acne and surgical scars. We apply an anesthetic cream just as we do with the IPL laser to reduce your discomfort; some clinicians also offer light sedation. The treatment takes one to two hours to perform depending on how large an area is treated. Skin improvements typically start to emerge within 24 hours of the treatment and the skin continues to look better and better over the course of two to three months. Results can be dramatic!

And Other Treatments

Microdermabrasion. This is a nonpenetrating treatment that feels like a cat licking your face with its little sandpaper-like tongue. Tiny crystals gently scrub away (exfoliate) the top layer of skin and then a vacuum tool sucks up the dead cells. Microdermabrasion does a great job of declogging pores so they appear smaller in size?plus it leaves your face dewy, smooth and soft. Monthly or bi-monthly treatments can keep pores clear.

Chemical peels. Glycolic, alpha, salicylic and other types of peels work like microdermabrasion to remove the outer layer of skin, clean out pores, and reveal fresh skin. The peels don?t hurt, and like microdermabrasion can be repeated frequently.

Fillers: These injectables are ?volumizers.? For example, Sculptra spurs collagen production and plumps out your skin so pores look smaller?while also reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The effects aren?t immediate; they appear over time as your body replenishes its collagen supply. Results can last for up to two years!

All of these treatments, including laser therapies, can be performed in various combinations with one another to enhance your results. Ask your dermatologist or cosmetic laser surgeon for the best options for your skin.
